Therefore, we are not required to sell any specific manufacturers hearing aids and we pride ourselves on:

Fitting our patients with the appropriate technology for their specific hearing loss.
Listening to our patients individual needs and programing every hearing aid to improve the patients ability to hear more effectively in those specific settings. (Home, Family Settings, Church, Golfing, Restaurants, On the Job, On the Telephone, etc.)
AHSST is an accepted "in-network" provider with almost all the major insurance carriers in the State of Texas and hearing aid benefits are quickly becoming a commonly accepted benefit of most insurance plans.
Currently, a few of the insurance companies will provide a $400-$500 benefit per hearing instrument. Some will cover a much larger percentage of the total purchase price of the hearing aids.
Please call your insurance company to verify your hearing aid and testing benefits, if you would like more information on your specific plan. Upon scheduling of your initial medical evaluation we will verify your benefit with your insurance provider.

Advanced Hearing Solutions of South Texas, Inc. (AHSST) opened May 5, 2004. Leslie H. Young, M.S. is the president and audiologist of this center.
Leslie H. Young, M.S.
Certtified Audiologist
Leslie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 and she received her Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders/Audiology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2000. She has state licensure through the State Board of Examiners for Audiology, Fitting and Dispensing of Hearing Aids. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, Texas Academy of Audiology, and Self Help for the Hard of Hearing.
Leslie enjoys helping people to improve their hearing and their overall quality of life. When she is not working whe enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and her three cats, Red Dawg, Squirrel and Monkey.

Kathryn Canales
Front Office Manager
Kathryn joined Advanced Hearing Solutions in October 2007. She brings with her over 10 years experience providing exceptional customer service, marketing, and banking skills. Kathryn received her Associates in Arts degree in Business Administration from Del Mar College in 2002. As the office manager, she handles all patient coordination, scheduling, and insurance billing. She also assists patients with hearing aid care and maintenance and the Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP). She has a positive outlook on life and enjoys helping patients with all their hearing healthcare needs. Kathryn also enjoys spending free time with her loved ones, relaxing by the pool, reading, exercising, and playing with her English Bulldog, Hurley.
Hunter Young
Director of Operations
Hunter received his Bachelors of Business Administration in Management from Hofstra University in May of 2000. He received a full athletic scholarship for football and was part of their 1997 Division I-AA playoff team. Prior to 1997, he attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa on full scholarship and was named Offensive Scout Team – Player of the Year for 1995.
In October of 2007, Hunter joined AHSST. He is licensed as a Hearing Instrument Dispenser and when he is not seeing patients he manages the company finances and daily operations.
Hunter enjoys traveling with Leslie, exploring anything and everything outdoors, competitive tennis and sailing, and playing with their three cats, of course.
